Maternal Instinct
After days of elusive tracking through harsh light, famous tigress Arrowhead rests in the dry forest of Ranthambore alongside her young cub. As a passing line of vehicles broke the evening calm, Arrowhead looked up, her alert, protective gaze locking into the camera while her cub gently rubs against her shoulder in search of affection.
Framed naturally through the dark, foreground trunks of the Indian jungle, the composition emphasizes both intimacy and atmosphere. The contrast between the vivid, fiery orange stripes of the tigers and the muted, moody grey tones of the surrounding forest draws immediate focus to the central bond between mother and offspring. Maternal instinct captures a split second reward earned through days of patience, a rare, cinematic portrait of instinct, affection, and wild vigilance.
