My photography in Hokkaido is shaped by repeated journeys across all seasons, first a summer stay with my family, followed by several returns in both winter, autumn and summer.

For photographers, the island offers a rare creative landscape where time itself transforms the scene.

In summer, I focus on flower fields, open horizons, and soft northern light, building compositions rich in colour and atmosphere. Winter reduces everything to its essentials, snow, ice, wind, and mist demanding a shift in approach, from wide landscapes to more intimate wildlife and detail work.

Through these seasonal contrasts, Hokkaido becomes an ongoing dialogue between light, weather, and perception. The first 20 images in this series were captured in autumn.
