I had visited Greece many times, but nothing prepared me for the magic of Lake Kerkini.
For five unforgettable winter days, I photographed a landscape wrapped in mist, where fog drifted across the water and transformed each scene into something almost dreamlike.
Guided by the wonderful Jorge, we explored the lake by boat and experienced extraordinary encounters with its famous pelicans. Drawn close by winter feeding, they glided through the pale haze, landed beside us, and at times even on the boat itself.
Lake Kerkini became far more than a photographic destination. It was a rare experience where the boundary between photographer and nature seemed to disappear.

GRE013 - On the third morning, as the sun rose, we turned our lenses to different perspectives, capturing new images of the pelicans in the golden light.
GRE014 - Undeterred by the gray, drizzly sky, the pelicans continued their relentless struggle for every thrown fish.
