One of my first goals was to climb Mount Kinabalu, the highest peak in Southeast Asia. Although the ascent took place under relentless rain, limiting my photography opportunities, it was still an unforgettable experience. What followed, however, would exceed all my expectations.
Guided by local knowledge and a passion for exploration, I discovered a country overflowing with natural wonders, ancient rainforests, unique wildlife, and breathtaking landscapes. One of the highlights of the journey came when my friend introduced me to the Bukit Atur Observation Tower.
Standing high above the rainforest canopy before sunrise, I witnessed a scene that seemed almost unreal. A vast blanket of clouds covered the forest below, while towering cumulus clouds rose into the sky above. It felt as though I was floating between two worlds, looking out over an endless sea of clouds with one of the oldest rainforests on Earth hidden beneath. The atmosphere, scale, and beauty of the moment left a lasting impression on me and became one of the defining memories of my time in Borneo.
